The challenge
Measuring the difference in engine vibration is difficult to analyse by an operator since the inspection is done visually with an FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analyser. An operator suffers from fatigue and is less reliable.

For this application the required accuracy was:
- Tolerance: +/-100 micro meter
- Resolution: +/-5 micro meter

The solution
The solution is to automate the reliability testing that has been conducted manually by use of FFT analyser. The key point in this is to measure the amplitude on the surface of the engine and automatically generate the test result.

Added value
The benefits for the customer are that product quality has stabilized and productivity has improved by continuously checking eccentricity data with the logging function of "Smart Monitor Zero”.
