Multilingual Global Search Functionality on the Industrial Automation Global Website

Omron Corporation launched a global search function to its industrial automation business' (IAB) global portal site. The new multi-lingual search function will allow customers to search more than 40 websites run by overseas IAB subsidiaries by country or region.

As manufacturing operations become increasingly international, there is growing demand from manufacturers for supply chain management on a global scale. Omron IAB aims to provide rapid, first-class service to its customers in the manufacturing industry regardless of where they are based. In April 2007, Omron IAB launched a global portal site featuring the latest information on its full range of factory automation products, and their availability around the world. Now, in order to provide a more seamless level of service across its global network, IAB will add the following functionality to the global website:

1. IA Global Search

The IA Global Search makes it possible to search the entire contents of Omron IAB's 40-plus regional websites in multiple languages. It also allows users to narrow the scope of their search to a particular region or country, in order to find information that is relevant to both local and remote business operations.

2. Site Search

The Site Search function allows users to search to search all of Omron IAB’s 40-plus websites simultaneously.

3. Product Search

The Product Search function makes it easy to find the specifications of products that Omron IAB supplies worldwide.

In the future, Omron IAB plans to integrate user authentication procedures while continuing to expand and standardize service across its global websites.
